Four Horsemenbeginner series

No, not the Apocalypse quartet. These four are a bit less impressive!

There are three sorts to declare for this problem: the four horsemen, the four horses and the four actions. All three sorts can be enumerated – see the “Four Spies” puzzle in the guide if you need to check on how to declare the sorts.

The Ruritanian equestrian team consists of four men named Mountback, Hacking, Klamberon and Topalov. Photographs taken at their last competition show them riding (if that’s the word) four different horses – bay, black, chestnut and gray – each of which is engaged in a different activity. One is standing still, one is jumping, one is trotting and the fourth is going at a fine gallop with Mountback hanging on for dear life.

  1. The bay, with Hacking aboard, is neither trotting nor jumping.
  2. Klamberon’s horse is also not jumping, and the gray is not trotting.
  3. Topalov sits proudly, if temporarily, astride a chestnut steed.

What do the four photographs show?
