Parking Bayintermediate series
This is a very straightforward puzzle. Note that if you use int for the positions, there will be no (complete) function mapping positions to anything else, so it may be better to use an enumerated sort for the positions, with names like “one, two, three, …” or “first, second, third, …”.
Five vehicles were parked, one behind the other, at the side of a street. For no good reason that I can think of, you have to work out the order in which they stood.
- The white vehicle was immediately behind the taxi, and the van was more than one place behind the blue one.
- The car was not brown, and nor was the middle vehicle of the five.
- The car was further back than the green vehicle, and the truck further back again. Neither of them was white.
- The vehicle immediately in front of the black one was just behind the bus.
- The bus was somewhere ahead of the taxi, and the van was somewhere ahead of the truck.
